How To Make Honey Glazed Ham for Christmas Celebration!
Sweet and Savory, often with Caramelized Crust❤
Ingredients:
- 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (7-10 pounds)
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (or orange juice)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Ham
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Remove the ham from its packaging and pat dry with paper towels.
- Place the ham in a roasting pan, flat side down. Score the surface in a diamond pattern, cutting about 1/4 inch deep.
2. Make the Glaze
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, butter, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, and garlic powder.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth (about 3-5 minutes).
3. Glaze and Bake
- Brush about 1/3 of the glaze over the ham, making sure to get into the scored cuts.
- Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, basting with glaze every 30 minutes.
4. Caramelize the Crust
- Remove the foil during the last 20-30 minutes of cooking.
- Apply the remaining glaze generously and let it caramelize. Watch closely to prevent burning.
5. Rest and Serve
- Once the internal temperature of the ham reaches 140°F (60°C), remove it from the oven.
- Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy the sweet, savory, and perfectly caramelized
dish!
Tips:
- For extra caramelization, you can broil the ham for 2-3 minutes at the end, keeping a close eye on it.
- Leftover ham can be used in sandwiches, soups, or casseroles!
