Ingredients:
2 cups cooked white rice
1 cup spinach, blanched
1 cup carrots, julienned
1 cup bean sprouts, blanched
4 oz (115g) ground beef or sliced beef
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 fried eggs
1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish
Steps in Preparation
Prepare the Vegetables
Blanch spinach: boil water, plunge spinach into it, cook for 30 seconds; then immediately drain and plunge into cold water. Finally, squeeze out the remaining excess of water and lightly season, with a pinch of salt and sesame oil.
Scald bean sprouts, cook in boiling water, put bean sprouts, 1-minute cooking is enough; let it drain and plunge under cold water. Light seasoning with salt.
SautΓ© the carrots: heat ½ tbsp of vegetable oil in a pan, add julienned carrots, and cook for 2-3 minutes until tender.
Cook the Beef
In a bowl, marinate the beef with 2 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tsp sesame oil. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
Heat ½ tbsp of vegetable oil in a skillet. Add the marinated beef and cook until browned and fully cooked through.
Scramble the Eggs
Heat a small amount of oil in a skillet. Fry the eggs sunny-side up or to your preferred doneness.
Assemble the Bibimbap Bowl
Start with 2 cups of warm cooked rice as the base in a bowl.
Arrange the prepared vegetables (spinach, carrots, and bean sprouts) and cooked beef around the rice in separate sections to create a colorful presentation.
Top with the Egg and Sauce
Place the fried egg on top of the rice in the center.
Add 1 tbsp of gochujang to the side or drizzle it over the egg.
Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the bowl for added texture and flavor.
Serve immediately. To eat, mix everything together to combine the flavors.
Tips for Success
Use a variety of vegetables for more color and flavor, such as zucchini, mushrooms, or radishes.
Add more or less gochujang for spiciness. Bibimbap is versatile—feel free to use tofu or chicken for a different protein option.
